Can you contact your local Titleist rep to find out how much to cut the tip on each? It usually is different from driver to fairway. After tipping, then butt cut to length. While working on the tipping, note the sure fit adapter is not interchangeable from driver to fairway.

Since you have to pull the adapter, recommended tip trim for a 3 wood from Graphite Design is .5" and then butt cut to length.

Hi, before cutting and installing this shaft,
    1) what is the weight of the shaft that you are using in your driver? If it is in the 60 gr. often the 3 wood will use a 70 gr. If you like a 60 gr. it is fine.
    2) if you still want to install it in your 3 wood, the other question, is you want to tip trim or not before installing the Titleist wood adaptor.
    3) adjust the finish length by cutting the butt at the desire length before installing the grip
    4) verify the swing weight and change the weight if it is need.

I choose to sold my AD DI 6s and bought a AD D 7s for my wood. I prefer an heavier shaft for wood.

Take it by your local Titleist account and have their repair shop do this task for you. An experienced fitter/repair person can advise you accordingly. Normally Driver shafts are lighter.
