Foot joy Freestyle Spikes

    So my spikes are starting to wear out a little bit on my freestlye. I know the standard spike is a pulsar. The pitch behind the freestyle is that it flexes alot and the pulsar spikes flex alot. So when replacing the spikes if I put a sturdy spike in their for more traction instead of a pulsar would that take away from the flexible gripping the shoes have since the spikes won't bend?

    Anyway, you could probably logon to the FootJoy community and some of the knowledgeable Ambassadors could answer your questions or you could call the FootJoy customer service @ (800) 224-8501 M-F 8:00 am to 6:00, and get the answer directly from one of their friendly staffs.

    I would not change the style of the spike...FJ techs design the show with lots of technology for a variety of reasons...they chose that spike for specific reasons.

    I would not recommend changing the type of cleats in your FreeStyle shoes. The Pulsar cleats with the Tour Lock fastening system are specifically paired to that shoe to provide the best performance and traction. Changing to a harder cleat that uses the Tour Lock fasteners would probably give you a much stiffer feel, something the FreeStyle is not designed for.

    Thanks for the info guys. I was curious because I walk all the time so the spikes were wearing out very fast. Also the flex zone is fraying and peeling. Is that normal?

    ISplisgardt, if it's a warrantee issue, be sure to call that number provided above. They'll be able to take a look at what you are/your shoes are experiencing.

    I don't want to change the style of the spikes but here in France it si impossible to buy the original spikes. It's driving me nuts!
