I'm in the market for a new bag as my current one has started to rip and was looking at the 14-way Stand Bag or the Lightweight Stand Bag. Can anybody who has either share pros and cons?

  2. I think the biggest differences are the most obvious ones. As someone who likes to carry my bag, the lighter the better. The lightweight comes in at 5.8 lbs, but it still a fully functional bag with a good variety of pockets and features, as opposed to the uber lightweight options which don't offer room for much.

The 14 way is advertised at 6.9 lbs, but with it I believe you get a bit more pocket organization, and the big advantage being having every club in its own compartment as opposed to the 4 slots in the lightweight.

What it comes down to, do you want a bag that's an easier carry, or more organization. As much I hate it sometimes when one of my clubs gets caught returning it to the bag, I much prefer to shed weight so I can carry more ofter, get exercise and not tire too much by the end of 18.

I had the same question a couple months ago....about to pull the trigger on the 14 way stand bag - I cart a good bit in addition to walking.....it adds up for me.

  4. I got the 4 way stand bag last year and like it a lot. It is light on my back and works well for a cart.
14 way will be good to seperate clubs, but it weighs little more for walking. You will be happy either way. Titleist makes really good bags. Good luck!

If you want to think a little differently, the Staff Stand Bag weighs in at 6.0 pounds which isn't that much more than the 5.8 pounds for the lightweight carry bag and less than the 6.9 pounds for the 14 way carry bag. The Staff Stand Bag will give you more room than you can use. The only drawback is that all the "stuff" you can fit in the Staff Bag will weigh down the bag.

Thank you! I appreciate all of the comments. I think I'm going to go with the lightweight as I walk quite a bit. Only thing I was afraid of was the amount of pocket space, but it sounds like that isn't an issue.

I'm in agreement with either the Staff Stand bag, or the new 4up stand bag. If you really want light as you walk all the time, the 4up is the way to go. You won't have as much pocket space, but if you tend to keep things in your trunk (rainsuit, extra balls, etc.) you can survive. If you will trade a couple pounds for more space grab the Staff Stand bag. I have both. Love them both for different reasons. When I didn't have an out of sight trunk space to keep extra items, everything was in the Staff Stand. Having a remote electric pushcart I use a mid-Staff bag now on that. But the 4up is in my trunk for walking when I forget to charge my battery or dont' have time to.

I have the lightweight in black and think it's great. You can't go wrong with it.
