On a beautiful June morning recently, I tee'd off on the second hole of Pine Brook Country Club in Weston, MA. It is a tough 165, severely uphill par 3 with a very undulating, tricky green. All 4 of us hit really good tee shots to the green, but it being an uphill hole we could not see precisely where they landed. When we got up to the green we only saw 3 balls and the first thought was that one of the shots went "long into the rough" off the back of the green. Happily, that was not the case....it turned out that my tee shot was sitting snugly in the hole. First hole-in-one in 17 years for me, and it was VERY exciting. I only wish we were able to have seen it roll in.
