When it comes to a Hole-In-One, some people say they are lucky, while others say they it is skill. For me, maybe it is a combination of the two!
I had a hole in one during a practice round on the 7th day of the 7th month (7/7/23) - some would say a lucky number. My first hole in one in 40 years of golf, but not a recognised one (except to me) in that it was not in a competition round and therefore did not get to have my name put up on the club wall. But I did have one of my regular playing partners with me to confirm it.
So this is where the lucky charm of my regular playing partner comes into effect. On Saturday, the 9th day of the 9th month, (9/9/23) I had another hole in one. I was ecstatic!
On both occasions, it was on the same hole playing 150m into a slight breeze, using the same club, and with my lucky charm there to see it again. This time it was in a competition, and therefore will be recognised with the owner of having my name placed on the club wall, etched into history.
I’ve lined up my lucky charm to play with me on the 11th day of the 11th month, which is a Saturday, so hopefully I will do it all again.
