Started the round with a double bogey and a bogey. First group out on Thanksgiving Monday and wasn't feeling it. Told my playing partner at the turn that we needed to get some birdies to get something going.
Headed down to the 10th tee. Watched all 3 guys hit before me. Had to grab a distance from the guy who hit first, calculated the wind, took some extra club and decided to choke down and try and put a smooth swing on it. 184 yards into a wind that had just started to pickup a little bit. Easy 5 iron. As soon as I hit it, I knew it was going to be good. It never left the flagstick. Watched it hit the green just short of the flag, one bounce and then disappeared. Two of the guys were standing behind me and they went crazy. We threw clubs in the air, we were jumping and hugging and screaming! The most exhilarating feeling of my life to finally have it go in. First hole-in-one in my 28 years as a golfer.
