I usually play with Titleist Pro V1x balls, but I had a new Titleist DT Soft in my bag that I thought would be better to use on a short course. The tee box was farther back in the tee box and slightly under a tree. So, it made it difficult to loft the ball too high too soon. Also, the green was higher up from the tee box. Plus, it was a front pin. So, even though it was only 73 yards, it wasn't an easy shot. I hit a clean shot, not to high, but just high enough to hit the front of the green, then trickle towards the hole. The hole was not visible from the tee box, so I didn't see it go in, but I knew it would be close. When I didn't see it on the green, we knew it was in the hole. Sure enough, it trickled right into the hole. It was a great finish to a horrible start.
