  1. On a sunny fall afternoon in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Georgia, after playing golf for over 45 years, and REALLY playing for over 30 years, I finally had my FIRST Hole-in-One at the beautiful The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, GA.

It happened on Hole #8, a 215yd Par 3, that interestingly has a plaque at the tee box commemorating back-to-back holes-in-one during a Collegiate golf tournament in 1991! I grabbed my hybrid first, but with the wind in my face, decided to switch to a 3-wood, I place my Titleist Velocity #4 golf ball on the tee, took one practice swing and addressed the ball. The contact was clean and the ball flew straight, it landed at the front of the green about 30ft away from the pin at the back of the green and started tracking towards the hole. At that point, I started walking to my cart knowing that I would probably have a birdie putt, then I heard my buddies on the tee box start screaming "I think it went it, the ball just disappeared....". Since the pin was in the shadows of the surrounding trees, I wasn't sure until I walked up to the hole to see my Titleist #4 golf ball looking back up at me...it was an incredible moment for me and my buddies! It's a day I'll never forget...here's to #2 at some point soon! :-)

I've attached pictures of the plaque at the tee box, the hole from the tee box, and my 4-some shortly after retreiving the ball from the cup!
