It was a partly cloudy day at Rainbow Hills that day, we start our first nine with a great weather. For the back nine, marshal directed us to the Forest course, there was none of players ahead of us since everyone else is directed to other course. So we have the course for our own. It’s our first round of golf in 2024, 2 January 2024.

Reaching the 6th hole, I let my friends to hit the ball first. I think I was the last to hit, I completely forgot. Looking from the range finder, it’s 102 m straight to pin. It’s my 50° wedge range, but I was hesitated. Asking my caddy for my pitching (46°) wedge, hoping the ball will land in the back of the pin and spin a bit closer to the hole.

I had no feeling at all, just lost like 4 balls before, and I was using my ProV1 Shamrock (maybe that the luck coming from :)) edition for the 2nd hole. When I hit it, it was straight to the pin and landed 6 meters in the back of the pin just as my plan. When the ball spun, everyone on my flight was screaming “Masuuuk!! Masuuuk!! It means “get in” in bahasa. I was standing, no words coming out from my mouth until the ball got in to the hole.

Everyone was jumping euphorically including me, what I remembered the most that there was a kick similar to getting high from a substance that make me really dizzy for like couple seconds. Everyone was shaking at that moment, I remember that my cart buddy saying that it was his first time saw a hole in one happened, and it shook him just as I am. 25 years of golf finally paid off!!

Moral of the story is: great things happen when you least expect it. Be patient and never lose hope. Everything is possible!!
