Tuesday Feb 13, 2024, I was playing a friendly round of golf with my friend, John Lievsay, at the Lake Windcrest golf club in Montgomery, TX. On the third hole , a 120 yard par 3, my tee shot took off straight for the hole. It bounced once, rolled toward the hole and stopped. The ball did not disappear, so I thought maybe it had not gone in. The threesome behind us gave out a cheer of congratulations, but I wasn't sure if it was deserved. My partner John asked if the ball had gone in and I said I wasn't sure.
As we approached the green, in our golf cart, the ball did not "move" toward or away from the hole, which indicates it is close. Walking up on the green, I could see that the ball was in the hole but wedged between the flag stick and the edge of the hole. I took the attached photo before a breeze moved the flag and the ball fell to the bottom of the cup.
