I’ve recently got back into golf after about 15 years of not playing. I used to play competitively in high school and was pretty decent ( shooting low 80s ), but focused on other parts of life.
Growing up, it was always a dream to get a set of titleist players irons. I’d pester my dad and tell him that I needed AP1s (new at the time). He was right and said to master what I had, that clubs were important but not as important as the swing.
Recently I’ve been reinvigorated with the sport and sprung for a new set of T150 (PW-7) and T200 ( 6-4) irons. I had previously been playing some png GI irons, and was a little hesitant switching to a player type iron.
The irons came in this past Sunday and I had a scramble event today on monday. I brought both sets of irons, and hit the range with the Titleisist sticks early. Loved the feel, and threw the old pings in the truck. First hole of the tournament was a 148yd par 3. Not truly knowing my iron distances, I grabbed the 8 iron and flushed it. I knew it was good, right at the pin. It hit the green, bounced once, and straight into the cup. First ever swing of the club!
It goes without saying I have caught the golf bug again and I am so happy to have my new Titleist irons with me on my journey.
