I’ve been playing golf for about 20 years. My son Chase and I enjoy planing Highland Park in Birmingham. A gem of a city course managed by Troon.
Playing my usual “22” numbered Titleist ProV1x ball, and teeing off fourth in our group on Hole 3, which was an elevated par 3 playing about 124 yards to the pin, I shot the ball high to land along the left edge of the green, which naturally slopes to the center. Had a great strike, high flight, landed softly, rolled gently the pin and disappeared.
Since my son loves the course but not with me this day, I FaceTimed him on my phone as we drove to the pin so he could share our celebration and pull the ball out with me. He also took the only pictures I’ll have of this event as a screen shot from that call.
Now he’s on the hunt for his first!
