Been very steep with my shape for a few years. Loved the ball flight and shape I got but risked catching it fat.
This week I’ve been working on a very shallow backswing and have been striking the ball so well. Really hard to believe how quickly I fell in love with this.
Today that came to a pinnacle on #18 at Sandpiper in Santa Barbara.
The read was 165-170 which setup perfectly for a full 8iron with a Pro V1. As soon as I hit it, I only-partly-kidding said; “that’s going in”.
Seriously, off the face and watching the line, I was very seriously thinking this thing is on a string for the pin. It landed about 2 feet short, took a soft hop and settled, rolling in like a perfectly paced putt… just. perfect.
The ProV1 was so good today. At 11 handicap I can (usually) add the shape and spin I want on my shots and I was just so confident today.
Will never forget today.
Wishing you all happy days and pure shots for all your days!
