I heard that Strick changed to a new set of irons last week. Anyone know what he went to? I know he was playing the AP2's.

Hi Robby,
Steve Stricker is currently playing the 714 AP2's.
Thanks,

Bubba, do you know if he changed the lofts since there was a loft change slightly this year to the new AP2's?
Thanks

Hi Chris,
Steve's current 714's are Std. loft.
Take care,

I talked to him briefly in Houston and he had the 714 AP2's in the bag. Reports from Augusta, and a few pics I saw, were that he went back to the clubs he was playing prior to the 714's. He said he wasn't comfortable enough with them yet and the ball flight wasn't what he was looking for(sounds like a shaft change is coming).
Best of luck Steve, we're all pulling for you. There's a Green jacket waiting for you on Sunday.

Chris,
Steve said during his press conference at Augusta that when he got his new irons at Houston that he also changed shafts which he did not like. So he had the shafts changed back to his old shaft for this week. He is now playing new clubheads with his old shafts that he's been playing for quite awhile.

I don't own the 714 AP's but the 712's.
The 714's touch felt a bit softer even with an X shaft.
