    Hey all,

    I recently sent my Phantom X 5 into the Custom Shop and it came back with some issues. The grip tape is showing past the grip, the shaft band was put on crooked, and there is a scuff on the bottom of the putter that won't scrub off. The putter I sent in was brand new.

    Has anyone had experiences like this before? I can probably cut the grip a bit tighter with an x-acto knife, but I'm not sure what to do about the shaft band. I looked online for a replacement but they go for $20-30.

    Lastly, I purchased heavier weights to give it a heavier feel and I didn't go heavy enough. Is there a place to purchase authentic 30g raw weights? I see on Scotty's website there are kits but they only go up to 20g.

    VERY surprising. I've sent in 3 putters and never had a problem. They've all come back perfect and with exactly what I wanted done. Maybe give them a call

    I ended up emailing them and they offered to have the putter shipped back to them to make the repairs. Good customer service for sure. I was very surprised when it showed up. Looking forward to seeing how it looks after repair.

    I had a sight dot put on mine and was brand new with plastic on it and when I got it back it had a couple little scratches on the sole but I didn't bother calling or want to send it back but they should have buffed them out before sending it back to me jmo
  5. Unfortunately much of the issues that have happened to your putter have become common.
    Scotty needs to have a chat with the guys in the custom shop. It has become a joke. When
    you can't even get a grip on straight its time to have a talk.

    I got back my Newport 2 putter back from the custom shop and it was perfect. Glad I didn't have any issues. Shipped back well protected and secured in the bow.

    Seems to be hit or miss. I would say 98% what goes out the door is perfect. It is the 1-2 that always come up in discussion.

    I too once had a paint job on my Mil-Spec only last a few rounds before it was falling out. CS was great about taking care of it for me in a very timely manner! This was 4-5 years ago.

    I also give big Kudos to the staff at the gallery in Encinitas on the fly! Talented and wonderful to deal with.
  8. Sent a 2020 Newport 2 in for a 1” longer reshaft and wanted the grip form the phantom line. Came back to PA flawless!

    I sent my newport back a few years ago, bet $ I ever spent. My gamer is still looking brand new!

    Appreciate everyone responding on their experiences. When I got the putter back the second time the shaft label was still not straight but at least the head was fixed and the grip tape was trimmed better.
