Is this a defect on my Phantom 5.5 neck joint?

  1. Hi everyone,

I have been fortunate to team up with two guys who owns identical putters as my new Phantom 5.5 while playing the practice round, and while we were comparing if any one of our putter has a defect, and guess what? lucky me... my phantom's hosel section finishing doesn't look right.

It looks like the neck hasn't gone in all the way to the head section, or it was sanded down more than the adequate level. I want my putter finishing to look perfect considering I have paid the premium price and, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

It's now with Titleist Australia to assess, and 1st phase feedback I was given was, 'they see no issue with it as it's made this way', so far, I've been told this is normal. Now I'm waiting for boss of Titleist Australia to make the final decision within a week time.

Clearly, there was a difference when I checked other two putters, and their neck was pushed in all the way and it was sitting flush. Much cleaner finishing than my putter.

Can anyone tell me if this is a manufacture defect? or upload your neck joint to share? I don't have much love with my putter at the moment, as it has been bothering me everytime it was taken out from the cover...

I would suggest getting in touch with Scotty's shop. They are usually really good with replies and will give you an answer. Maybe even suggest that you send it to their custom shop in the off season and see what they think in person. Good Luck with it. Hope it works out.
