I have played a Newport 2s for years. I like the feel of the Newport 2 and have had issues with mine of time. Have tried other Scotties trying to find the Answer. Afterall, all his blades are the Anser style as most brands are.
I also have the new PLD Anser but very seldom use it. What I did to solve my issues was buy a number of sets of Scotty weights (not knock-offs) for my Select Newport 2 (10, 20, 30, 40). I can play around with the weighting until I get what is right for me. None of us putt the same and some like a little bit more on the front or on the back and in that case you can do that with out switching putters. In this case where you have one you really like. I currently have 40 in each slot and really like the heavier on my 35" putter. Requires me to take a more even slow stork toward the hole. Feels more natural. Just me.

Yes I swap. If my stroke get out of line I will go to a phantom 6s. When greens are slow I will sometimes use the 6s also. My fast green putter is a newport 2+

There putter fitting studios. There are preferred Cameron retail studios listed under clubs- putters. The Phantoms come in multiple toe flows based on the model line.

Mallets can stabilize your stroke more than a blade. So can larger grips, lead hand low, claw grip, and long shaft braced on forearm. My putter fitter also ran through all options and not just picking one putter in 3 strokes.

I was in a similar boat not too long ago. Started with a mallet, went to a blade, and back to a mallet before settling on the Concept X CX-01. This is the best of both worlds. I started with Taylor Made Spider to a Newport, to a Phantom X 5.5, The concept x has the feel of a blade but performance of a mallet. Love it! Good Luck

The Concepts are very cool putters.

It not uncommon in golf to see guys changing putters to a different look. Players like to try to get a different set up to change it up once in a while. Ya never know, maybe you will be dropping putts left an right!!
