What do your wear when the temperatures begin to drop for the fall? I wear a short or long sleeve shirt, a sweater vest and a sweater over that and a light jacket and have full freedom of my swing. I take the layers off as the morning temps begin to warm up.

  2. It depends on the temperature. I played last year when it was 30 degrees out and wore under armor fleece lined tights under my pants, wool socks, under armor base layer shirt under my Polo and a sweater. Normally I'm fine with pants and a sweater though because I walk in the winter to keep myself warmer

Not dedicated enough to play where I have to wear long underwear. Upper 30's in the sun, can humor ourselves to think it isn't that bad. Thin layers, Under Armor type base, with cotton turtle neck over that, then either sweater, or polyester pullover, and a vest, best with pockets. If more layers than that are needed, you can't swing freely, and it's not worth it. Gotta walk too, don't need any breezes from the cart.

    Hi Bob,

I'm with you on preparing for the changing weather- preparation is everything in golf, that's for sure.

All my golf gears and some office clothes and shoes are by FootJoy. There's a reason for that- the saying; "Make everyday playable" by FootJoy have proven many and more times than not to be true. FootJoy makes all the proper golf gears that works in any weather I'm okay to golf and even in some of the times I shouldn't be out. ...oh, and yeah, the styles are a great bonus!

Mock turtleneck with sleeveless t shirt underneath. And a vest. Usually a Titleist knit cap if it's windy cold.

    BobT,

Great question, depends on the temps and conditions. I'm from Upstate NY where it gets pretty cold. Body heat moves toward the middle of your body so the most important thing is to keep your feet, hands and ears warm. Body heat moves toward the middle of your body. If it's cold enough, throw on an extra pair of athletic socks, maybe a nice Titleist pom pom knit hat, and keep some gloves handy for in between shots! Other than that, mobility is key! I recommend any of the cold gear options that swoosh,UA,Adidas offer. Anything to limit the number of layers can only help. Good luck!

Have FJ base layers and also like the FJ sleeves that I can take on and off. FJ half zip vests and wind shirts are also in my fall wardrobe. Always prepared. Being a FJ Ambassador have to complete the FJ image with FJ shoes and apparel. Being Team Titleist; Titleist balls, caps, visors, umbrella and bag. The complete Acushnet line and proud of it.

I go from shorts to long pants in the winter, maybe a sweater. Winters can be brutal in Florida.

Follow the FJ base layering system, simplistic, yet functional!

Hey Chuck --- great looking ensemble! Red accent on the golf shoes, the red Titleist FJ cap, tied together by the red FJ shirt underneath your half zip pullover! Very smart look!

Once the temperatures drop I still like to make it out to the golf course. Fortunately, it does not get too cold in the winter down in Texas! Even if it does, with the FootJoy layering system I can use a base layer, mid layer and outer layer and be prepared for any weather and adjust as temperatures change throughout your round.

Layers are the key, with the outer layer being a wind barrier when needed. The FJ breathable fabrics and layering system is perfect. When the weather really gets tough, don't skimp on a good outer layer. Again, FJ is cream of the crop and the XP line is as good as it gets. RainGrip or WeatherSoft gloves help in cold or wet conditions. RainGrips saved our trip to Ireland!
