My real comfort level is 45 degrees, sunny and no wind. I have been known to venture lower however....

They close the courses for frost so I will play as long as the course is open. I have lived in areas where the courses stay open and have played on frozen conditions. (I was much younger)

No snow? No problem. I won’t, however, play or allow play if the greens aren’t completely thawed or frozen.

I will play as long as I can feel my hands. I don’t really care for temp greens though or when I feel like I should have brought a hammer to get my tee in the ground.

I play golf for fun. Its no fun when the temperature gets below 40 degrees. 5 layers of cloths and 1-2 clubs less in distance and you start to question your own sanity. When your ball bounces off the water hazard, its time to go in.

up here in the northeast not to many courses stay open when temps get near the forty degree mark. When one is open the course is usually muddy. If the better courses would stay open hence better playing conditions we would have better turn out in the colder northeast temps. As long as it is sunny and above freezing, I'm all in for a round. Pro V1 any time of the year.

Below 40 was my answer primarily because I don't like to swing when bundled up.

Below 40 is usually where I draw the line. After that you have to get so layered up it messes with your swing! Also, we tend to get a lot of frost delays here and that can cause all kinds of issues from a time point of view.

Below 40 with no wind between 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, possible.
Heated driving range, always.

South Florida tends to spoil you. There are 364 days left to play and anything under 60 by 9 am is a pass for me.

In Missouri we never know what the weather will be, so my retired crew has to stay flexible on our usual Monday and Thursday outings. But there is probably only one guy in the bunch that will play when it’s chilly. As a rule though, the temperature has to be in the mid-40s or better for my buddy to book anything.

Lot of high winds in Oklahoma so the base temperature is misleading as windchill comes into play. Golf is too much fun to be miserable.
On the other hand I have seen and used carts with covers, propane bottle heaters, etc.
If you have a way to get out of the wind on days 50 degrees and lower then it's tolerable. (Says the older dude. :-)

All depends on the wind. Playing in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina, golf is pretty much year round. Even in the 30's, if there is no wind and the sun is out, you can have a great day on the links. When the wind cranks up (especially out of the North), even a day in the 50's may be too cold.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and the courses won't let us play until the temp reaches 36 so the greens aren't damaged. If that 36 is after 12 PM I don't play because we won't finish before dark. We all dress for the weather correctly but we don't want to damage the greens (footsteps turn black on the green and it kills the grass) either so we just have to do what we can to cope with it.

as long as its not raining, light wind, and hopefully sunny, we'll play in Cleveland Oh . Need to get as much as we can as the season is already too short. Or just buy a place in warmer climate and be a snow bird :)

Ha, I just played an early morning round today in Palm Desert and it was low 40’s to start and mid 60’s by the end of play. It can change that quickly this time of year.

It has to be above 50 or you will find me in the bar.....I was playing in a tournament in MA and the temp did drop below 50 so we had to go on. the temp. dropped and my score increased faster than the weather..
