    I just read a very interesting article from John Feinstein on golfdigest.com (attached is the link).

    Very well written, also I just wanted to say I'm absolutely appalled by the people who are bashing Patrick for what winning? Saying he's not worthy, shouldn't have won because he's fat, etc. Give me a break, not everyone is outgoing and approachable, we're all different. Anyways I was rooting for great golf on Sunday, and well, we got it and then some. I would have loved to see Rory, Jordan, Rahm, or especially Fowler win. But, I am extremely happy that Patrick won. Kudos to him, very deserving, and I wish him the best of luck in the future.

    My next point that drives me nuts is the article written on ESPN by Ian O'Conner, the one about the fact that Patrick doesn't want his parents and sister at any of his golf tournaments. Absolutely unnecessarily written. There are many people in the world that have issues or rifts in their families. It isn't any concern of ours, some things, especially things like this should be private. Anyways, I'll get off my soapbox now.

    Couldn't agree more, he is every bit more the every man player than the rest of them. He is passionate, proud to be American, emotional, and gutted out a great week with creative helicopter finish swings. I was always taught is was tradition to be a gentleman at the course, clapping at good golf and applauding excellence.

    It is ridiculous, after all US golf fans love him when he's playing lights out in the Ryder Cup and President's cup. He played the best all week and deserved the win.

    Josh thank you for posting the link to the Feinstein article. Feinstein's articles are always well written and informative. I must admit I was one that was not pulling for Reed to win. He is not my favourite golfer on the PGA Tour, but then again some people like the Cubs over the White Sox. Even though as I said he is not my favourite golfer one must respect the fact that over 72 holes during this Masters Week the was the best golfer, his putting and short game were outstanding. Ricky and Jordan put a good run on him but not enough.

    I most certainly agree with you about the article by O'Conner. Who Reed wants at his tournaments is his personal choice. This information does not belong in an article about golf.

    As usual Feinstein writes a great article. For me, I have my doubts about Reed's character given he's failed to acknowledge or address his problems in college. He is so mentally tough as a player that maybe he thinks he has to carry that attitude off the course as well. Whatever happens with Reed, it will be interesting.

    Reed played championship caliber golf, was composed throughout the tournament, and has a green jacket to show for it. All credit to him and his team.

    Putting prior documented and alleged indiscretions aside -- who else can claim to be removed from poor decision making when college-aged -- any personal matters between him and his family should remain as such. While I hope they can achieve some form of reconciliation in the future, it's none of my business.

    Very much hoping for an equally exciting finish at the remaining majors in 2018.

    Patrick Reed played better than anyone else during the Masters and won the tournament. That has to be respected. All the rest is just background noise that follows anybody spending time in the limelight. The ESPN article was unprofessional in that it published rumors and gossip as if they were fact.

    I think it is two things. One the internet has made a lot of "brave" people who hide behind their keyboards. The other is who came close to winning. Players like Jordan or Rickie are more outgoing and "likable". When Jack first started the fans didn't like him because he wasn't Arnold.

    Hear you loud and clear Josh. I couldn't agree more. Family issues are for the Family! Leave him alone. He won the Masters fair and square. Nobody can ever take that away from him.
