Maybe it's just me, and maybe I'm showing my age, but can we get agreement in the golfing world, PLEASE, and stop calling metal "woods", metals, and just keep calling them woods. I know they're not made of wood anymore, but irons aren't made out of iron either, and we still call them irons. I remember my kids that played growing up when they were really young asking about irons being called irons when they weren't made out of iron, and it was easily explained that they used to be back in the beginning days of golf. I don't think it's just me as most of the television commentators will still say "...he's taking out the 3 wood", while a few will say "3 metal". If it's just me, then give it to me, let me have it, but good and I'll move on. But nearly everyone I talk to about it thinks the same. Just one man's opinion
