I want to take some lessons this year. Looking for some suggestions for a quality golf pro/instructor here on Long Island, NY that wont totally break the bank. I've done some research and some of the top instructors around here are charging between $200-300/hour...some even higher. That's just a bit more then i'm willing to spend right now. Do any of you work with any pros here on Long Island that you like and have helped your game? Bonus points if they are left-handed. Thanks for any leads you can provide guys! Really appreciate it!

LOL - I'm sure Michael Breed is more than $100 an hour. Golf Channel has an academy at Beth Page - the price wasn't listed. Locally, in WI the closest to me is only $80 an hour. The beauty of being LH is you can easily mimic the RH trainer face to face. I tried GolfTec and they were able to reverse/invert Tiger Woods to hit LH. My biggest problem is that a pre-2009 Tiger was nothing a post-65 could aspire to. I needed to be the best me, not a badly imitated Tiger copy. Training indoors on mats didn't translate well, either.

Yeah, going to see Breed is like a pipe dream. He charges around $500/hr. Good for him, but I can’t afford that. Bethpage is where I play most of my golf, but their driving range is one of the worst ever. You can’t even hit drivers there. Oh and the driving range is currently the media center for the pga. We have had to hit into a net all spring while they were building that monstrosity. Thanks Don
