Hi everyone, new TT member here but a once avid Titleist golfer. Basically gave the game up about 11-12 years ago. I was a 7 handicap in my prime playing/caddying days, but I've played exactly 4 rounds since 2010. I'm 36 now and my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world back in October. I really want to introduce him to the game and figured now is as good a time as any to get back into it myself.
Wasn't sure how to go about it, and didn't want to drop a ton of money only to get frustrated and discouraged, so I tried as best I could to rebuild my bag from 2005 when I was really playing well via eBay. Here's my current WITB setup:
983E 8.5 Speeder S-Flex
980 15 degree 3 wood Titleist 4375 S-Flex
980 17 degree 5 wood Aldilla S-Flex
735 CM's 3-PW Steel True Temper
54 degree Vokey 260*12
60 degree Vokey 260*12
Odyssey 2-ball putter
Titleist Players 4 USA stand bag (the only thing I insisted on buying new)
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone on here went through as long of a layoff from the game as I did, and if so, I'd love to hear any advice you have about regaining your confidence and getting to a point where you felt ready to play 18 again. I'm lucky enough to have 2 driving ranges w/practice facilities near me that are open at night, so I'm using this time now to really try and get some consistency back in my swing.
Really looking forward to learning a lot from this forum, the information on here has been awesome from what I've seen already. Hit 'em straight, everyone!
