My buddy and I decided to change things up a bit. Playing Pinecrest Golf Club in Bluffton, SC (The Low Country) we've had a little rain. So we decided to play a forward tee.
The tee was up on the 13th hole, playing 114 yards to a front pin, plus a little help. Kinda between clubs, I went with my 56* SM7 (stock 105 yds). When I made contact, it felt like maybe 1/2 groove low, so it needed to go. Needless to say, it did.
That ProV1* carried the false front (about 2 yards on) and acted like a homesick gopher as it released disappearing into the 4"x6" abyss, where all Titleist balls belong.
Final score was 70 (-1) which was the absolute worse score I could have made.
That Saturday morning, I missed 3 greens, unable to get up and down, I made bogey.
15 GIR - I made a 13 footer on #3 and a 2 footer on #6 for birdies. Other than the 13' on #6 the longest put all day was 20'.
I'm using T-MB 716 irons, Vokey SM8 and SM7 wedges, SC Select Squareback putter and the always dependable ProV1*.
(I only use white tees)
