    Hi all

I'm new here to the forum

I play at a course call Galgorm Castle in Northern Ireland.

Hopefully this year I can reduce my handicap from 20.9 to 17.

Thinking all the goals I could set for myself this year? They only can be accomplished if I can get my back issues in order. X-rays and MRI done this past week and will meet with neurosurgeon on January 5th. Guess I have met step one in my biggest goal. Hakuna matata. =)

Be a better driver of the ball. I still play pretty well, but as with all of us, we know we can get much better on the scorecard.

I want to lower my handicap from a 12.8 into the single digits, and lose 15 pounds (not , lol).

LOL, my goal is to get fit for opening day in NJ on 4-15-2023. I used to be 5 9 and a 1/2 but, gravity is a ***, it sucked me down to 5' 8', by the way, I am over half way to 76. I started intermittent fasting on November 4th 2022. Long story short, I have now crossed the battle of the bulge. I have gone from snug size 38, down to snug 36's, now down to snug 34's. I went from 218 to just under 191 today 1-13-2023. I still drink beer, have wine for dinner and pretty much eat what I want, I don't eat breakfast, I kinda eat a brunch. They say you shouldn't eat dinner after 6:30 PM., well I disagree because, I'll eat a big steak, lobster with butter etc. but i don't eat until 7:30-8:00 at night, however, I do stay up until 2-3 AM. Numbers sort of work themselves out. Tired of being a ten, in my fifty's to about 55 I was a 1 to 2 handicap. I am determined to get back to no worse than a 5. Didn't play or practice much last year, but 2023 is a new year. Wishing you all well in 2023 and most importantly, enjoy your friends and have fun, no matter what the score. We are still on the right side of the grass.

    2023 Golf Goals:

    - lower my handicap
    - go get fit for my driver and woods.
    - take a lesson at least once a month, checks and balance with my coach.
    - 3 shots or less from 100 yards and in.
    - Hit more fairways!

Just some of the ones I could think off the top of my head.

For me just getting my scores more consistent which means putting in more practice time. Good luck on your goals!
  8. Hi all,

New to forum. Play at Bowood G&Cc in Wiltshire.

Goal for this year is to get from 11.2 to around 8 handicap. Went from 18.2 to 11.2 this year so hopefully more movement in the right direction

A few simple goals for me in 20223:

    1. Be more in the moment of each shot - focus on and visual the desired outcome for each shot.

    2. Practice with a purpose.

    3. Reduce my handicap index

    4. Win a club event

And most importantly - have fun!

I’d like to move from an 18.2 to a 12. A bit ambitious, but I’m taking lessons and will play a lot more this year.
  12. Getting Fitted for Titleist Driver next week so I'm really looking forward to this.
    Move from a 9 handicap to a high 7.
I'm a decent ball striker but need to score better when in the fairway.
I play with a gent who is much better than me. He can leave the game for months at a time and still shoot par after a little warm up. I want to learn/gain from his mentality and how he puts himself in position to score.
Good gosh, I love this game!
  13. Playing with someone better is very helpful , pick up some pointers along the way
  14. I would like to have more consistency in my game , relax and enjoy the game

I just started playing again after 6 years off.

I was down to a 3.2 when I stopped playing. Dropped a toooon of weight (180lbs) and lost my swing.

Started playing again in July and quickly found my game again and am playing at about a 8.

My goal for 2023 is to get to a 3 again. I think it is attainable with my Titleist gear as the main support!

Happy New Year!! My goals are to get my daughter passionate about golf and also lower my handicap. We recently bought her a set of clubs this Christmas (she turns 6 y/o this coming March) and I would like to lower my handicap from 12 to 10. Both are goals, but my primary goal would be to enjoy time out on the course with my daughter.

  23. Hi Victor:

Welcome to TT. Good luck on reducing your handicap, I am looking to start shooting in the 70s on a regular basis. A bit more work on the short game and putting and I should be able to make it happen.
  24. With my limited practice time due to a young family, I just want to continue my trend of coming down a shot a year. Dropped from 15 to 13 last two years and probably only carded 20 rounds a year each year. I always said if I could get to 12 or 11 I’d then go for some new irons.

Ha! The impossible goal of bringing my driving range swing to the course. No handicap goals as that will fluctuate depending on the occasional good round that anchors the number for a while. But the driving range swing to the course will fix a lot of metrics, GIR, FIR and distance.

That sounds like a worthy goal!

My goal this year is to simply make time to play more. We welcomed our first child last summer, and I haven’t been able to play much since he was born. My wife and I made it a goal to carve out time to allow the other to do things outside of the house (to keep our sanity).

This will be my first full season with a complete Titleist set, and a Scotty. My goal is to play more and be more consistent. Putting will be where I start my number shaving.
  28. To receive something from TT for loyalty and spending over £2000 on new clubs Oct to Dec 20222.
    T100s irons
    TSi 2 driver
    TSR fairways 15deg and 18deg

Plus get handicap from 10 into single figures
