    TT,

Planning a trip down to Phoenix this march with the Family. I'm planning to golf 3-4 rounds in the week. One expense course and the others $100. I'm sure this has been asked a hundred time but I'd love some insight on the courses and the best places.

I'd love to play an authentic desert course. Big Cacti and mountains.

    Thanks all.

    Go Low!

It’s a big city and where you stay might impact where you play. High end courses like Troon North, Greyhawk, Quintero, We-Ko-Pa are most popular. March is prime season as well “Snowbirds” are still here and MLB Spring Training is located here with lots of visitors in March. Courses will be full and rates high so get reservations asap.

    Thanks for the info Dale.

We are staying in the south end of the city Shadow Rock area. The closest course is Foothills. It looks rough and appears they have just redone their greens.

What are your thoughts on Verrado? Is it a nice course and will it have the big Cacti and mountain views? Or would Desert Canyon or Sunridge Canyon be more of the desert look.

There are so many course its tough to decide especially never playing here makes it so tough.

I have only been living here two years and I am located in the northwest part of town so my golf has been northwest and some northeast (Scottsdale). I can’t help you with info on the ones you listed. Sorry.
  5. Just got back from a quick golf trip to Phoenix myself defiantly recommend Quintero it was an amazing course that made up for less than okay greens. I also played TPC Scottsdale but the champions course not the stadium course as tee times were booked and that was ehhh. We also played at Ravens club which was maybe 10 mins away from the airport and was a very nice course for the price.

I haven't played a ton down there but have played We Ko Pa and Grayhawk. At that time of year they'll both be safely above $100 but I would tell you We Ko Pa is worth every penny - especially the Saguaro course. Super fun layout and great views all around.
  7. Just returned from Scottsdale and I played We-Ko-Pa Saguaro and it was simply incredible! I loved everything about it and cannot recommend it enough.
