  1. Hey TT, I have my 714 AP2 PW and W (46.07 50.07). And a Vokey SM6 set up of 54.10S and 58.12K. However, I seem to have a gap issue as I hit my PW about 130yds and my 54.10s about 115yds at a full swing. I've thought about removing my AP2 Gap wedge altogether and going with another hybrid or a true 3 iron to fill the gap I have between my 4 iron and my 21° hybrid. I'm just not sure if having an 8° gap between wedges is a good idea or not. Or if bending my wedges will help at all.

    I have 716 AP2'S With. 46° P/W 50-F, 54-S, 58-S Vokeys. I hit my P/W about 115 yds the 50° around 100 yds full swing. I use my 54° & 58° for scoring shots like bunkers, approach shots around 60 to 80 yrds & for chipping
I even some times use the 50° scoring shots as well.
I find this a good setup for me. As far as hybrids I've ditched the 3 & 4 iron and put in a 21/3 & 24/4 hybrids I've even taken out my 3 wood and replaced it with 18/2 hybrid as I find I don't need the 3 wood distance at my course.
If I was you I would keep the 50° and use the 54° for more scoring shots where you dont need a full swing.
The Vokeys are a very versatile wedge they can be very usefull in a lot of varied situations.

15 yards is not an unmanageable gap.

    I played with SM5 48-08, 54-10S and 60-04L before upgrading last year.

You can change your distance by choking down. For full swings, the rule of thumb is 10 yards per half inch of choke down. For half swings, 5 yards.

    My iron setup is AP2 6 and 8 irons (the 8 is bent 2* strong), RM21 42* "wedge", SM6 50-08 (bent to 48*), SM7 56-08M, MD3 64/8.

So why not have the 50-08F bent to 48* and dump the PW?

I have a post floating. If you bend the 50-07 W to 48*, the bounce will be 5* If you bend the 46-07 to 48, the bounce will be 9*. Yardage changes about 5 yards.

    48-54-58 for wedges is reasonable.

  5. I play AP3's...which means...PW, 48*, 52*, 56*, and 60*! Bag full of wedges for me. No 3 iron or hybrid. Yes, I have a 30 yard gap between 3 wood and 4 iron.
  6. Do you have any problems with the gap between your 3 wood and 4 iron or is it reasonably manageable. I'm in a similar situation, I have C16's and my P is 43* and my gap wedge is 47*. I'm carrying a 54* and 60*Vokeys. I don't carry a 3 iron or hybrid either but I carry a 2 iron. That's for course management, I play on courses with quite a few short par 4s with a lot of trouble around them. I can't reach them with a driver and prefer my 2 iron as it's long and accurate.

I think I have a gapping issue between my gap wedge and 54 wedge and I'm think of dropping my 3 wood, which I hardly use and adding a 50* Vokey.
