I was lucky enough to get another sleeve of prototype balls.
I played with them last weekend.
The balls felt harder than the NXT's .
Hard to tell roll, courses are coming out of over seed.
Fairways are wet and greens are very soft.
I'm curious to see others feedback on these balls.

Prototype ball tested and survey taken. I like this new ball. Overall it just seemed to perform a little better than the Pro V1x especially off the tee with a driver. Much better paint, played the prototypes side by side with Pro V1x'x and the test balls had no scuffs and stayed whiter. I sure hope this test ball goes to market soon.

Another amazing test with these balls. It's shocking and surprising that the balls durabilty is so strong, but maintained that buttery feel. I got the ProV1 test balls, and found them to spin less off the tee than the old ProV1s. almost reminded me of the ProV1Xs. I was getting about 200-300 less spin according to the trackman in the indoor facility.
I'm just still shocked and amazed how Titleist is able to improve year after year.
Kudos, Titleist! And thank you for including all of us hackers in helping provide feedback.

i like the pro v 1 better..the skin seemed softer and easier to scuff on the test ball.

This is a great new ball. Played them for the last 3 rounds and have 0 complaints. Longer, still with great feel around the green. Ball flight is similar to the Pro V that I play. Touch shots around the green are exceptional. Shot 74 today with one ball and out drove my usual drive by 10+ yards. Love it!!

Got a birdie on the 1st hole using the new test Prototype balls-my partners were asking where I got them !! They check up really well on the greens-Thanx again Team Titleist-Larry V.

Tested mine this past week. Wow! Less spin off the driver, much more spin and control on the short game. More yards off long irons....love them!

Thank you for the opportunity to provide some useful information (I sincerely hope) as well as the opportunity to be a part of Titleists' testing. This has been an honor.
I think these are a very, very good ball.
My experience was not as much spin off the driver or woods, yet more spin with my short irons.
An excellent combination for me.
Thank you very much again.

Tested my new prototype balls this past week. As always, Titleist makes a great ball. I normally play the ProV1X.
For me, the prototype ball seemed to spin less off the tee as well as with long irons and short irons. Carry was about
the same off tee with good trajectory. Long irons and short irons carry was about the same as well,
What I truly like was on mid irons to green the ball hit and stayed. No backing it up or rolling out. 100 yard shot
came down at 100 yards and stayed. This happened with all my approach shots. I am a 6 handicap and a feel
player. The ball was soft and feedback was good. Came off putter very well on long and short putts. I would
have no problem putting this ball in play. Thanks Titleist for allowing me to participate! Look forwardto the next
testing session!

My opinions of the ball are very similar to many others (longer off the tee, more spin on short irons and especially chips) but some folks had exactly the opposite opinion. At times I was wondering if we were sent the same ball.
As a scientist I'm very interested in what Titleist actually gets out of these surveys. I'm sure they test these balls to the nth degree and have already quantified exactly how they spin, how far they go, their trajectories, durability, etc., etc., etc. I love hard data, it's this human perception thing I can't figure out!!
There was one shot with the proto ball that basically shocked me. The rough around our greens is about 3" deep, is super lush (bent??), and it grabs the club like crazy. It requires very clean contact to get any spin on the ball at all. I was about 5' off the green and had about 20' to the pin. I hit my Vokey 60 and caught the ball very heavy (hardly my best effort). The ball came out low and fast as expected and I was expecting some hook spin and a lot of runout. The ball checked hard, took one straight hop, and then rolled out a couple of inches. I was anticipating a 15 footer but was left with about 2.5' instead. The ball reacted like it was hit perfectly clean off of a tight lie. Crazy!
Can't wait for these to hit the market; thanks Titleist!

Just returned from a 3-day boys weekend at Buffalo Creek, Pine Dunes and Cowboys Club ... the balls came in 2 days before we teed it up. Great timing guys!
I'm a newly minted senior with a retired athlete's high-mileage body ... and thus a swing speed that needs to stay below 90 - 95 mph. I typically play Pro V1s, while on windy days I play Pro V1Xs and take the distance hit from a swing speed that won't fully compress the ball in favor of a ball with less spin. This prototype might be the elixer for players like me.
The prototype ball felt and played like a Pro V1 / Pro V1X hybrid. Off the tee it had Pro V1 feel and distance with Pro V1X trajectory and shot shaping. Through the green it had Pro V1 feel, distance and trajectory with Pro V1X t shot shaping. Around the greens it felt like a Pro V1, though I was able to get more backspin out of thick Bermuda and sand with the prototype.
It played well and (above all) was predictable once I got a feel for it.

Just finished my survey, I had a great time testing against a brand new sleeve of Pro V1. I would certainly buy the prototype if they are the next Pro V1

Completed survey today. Thanks to Titleist for including me in their testing of the prototypes this year. Noticeable small improvement around the greens and with short game for me.

Oddly enough, I received the email asking how the balls were, but never received the balls! Keep checking the mailbox hoping for a fall miracle. :(
