A sleeve at a time. I mark them at the course before hitting a few practice putts. I mark my balls with two dots one above the T and the other diagonally across from it to the right of the number.

I use to mark a dozen in advance over the winter, but if i had a bad round ( i always blamed the ball right :) so i started changing markings some my kids pick out some i see on this forum. Now i do it on the putting green 1 ball @ a time.

A dozen at a time, one line in middle of ball. A different color line depending on the number and a symbol around the number.

Always a V1x play number 2. Dots in dimples around the play number on one side and a "T" to lower right of the play number on the other side. Sometimes I will mark a sleeve at a time before, others while on the course. Now that I really think about it, will probably mark a dozen at a time.

I mark 3-4 dozen at a time watching golf on TV. I usually put stripes on them but I bought some decals this time. Take a look.

I used to mark my Titleist with a red dot but now I just buy a few dozen Titleists with my initials stamped on each ball. No need to worry about marking them anymore.

Pre-marking works for casual golf, but not competitive. I am Mikayla's father/caddie (responding for her) and a high school golf coach, she is a Div 1 college and tournament golfer. In competition, using a provisional or replacing the ball, the marking has to be different so that the ball can identified with certainty. Mikayla has a standard mark with additions as needed to differentiate, sometimes also changing colors. She does use customized ProV's, but still has to have a mark.

I mark my Pro V1's with a 2 red dots, one dot each side of the number. I get the 4 dozen deal in the spring and mark them 1 dozen at a time as needed.

Prior to the ordering the personalized, i would do as many have said, on the couch the night before a round.

Now that they come to my office, and I may play on the spur of the moment, I open them a dozen at a time and mark them, put one or two sleeves in my bag (depending on how many are there) and the other sleeves on a shelf in my office.
