  1. The weather has finally given me time to break out the white box of Pro V1s Titleist sent me months ago. I wanted an good warm, light wind day insure no outside bias. My driver swing speed is around 95 and the Pro V1 felt great off the face, firm but I could definitely feel the compression on the face. I am very pleased with the launch and carry of this ball which is, on average, 12 yds longer than the TM Tour Response I am currently using. Yes, I do keep statistics on my drives. The ball felt great off of irons 4-9 with an average increase of 5 yds on the mid to short irons. From 100 yds in the ball performance was amazing. I had to adjust for 50 yd pitches as I was not prepared for the additional spin. Putting, it seemed more consistent off the face but I'm not a great putter so you'll have to figure this one out for yourself. This ball is #1 for a reason and it still fits my game at 63.

A bit of history, I started out playing Titleist 100s, balata with a wound rubber core 40 years ago. If you put one in the middle of the club face, you scarcely felt it leave the face. However, if you thinned one, well just grab another ball and draw two eyes above the smiley face.

I was one of many selected to receive a sleeve of the 21’ ProV1’s. I greatly appreciate this offer and more then excited to give me feed back after hitting the new ball. I usually play with the AVX, which I absolutely love. After play the ProV1, I noticed a lot more spin around the greens. I got good reaction from the ball hitting the green. I really like the feel of the AVX. That soft feel with long distance. The ProV1 is not too far off. The new ProV1 seems softer then models in past. After playing the ball for a round of 18 holes, seeing and feeling some differences for the good. I could see me putting a V1 on the tee this season. Good work and congratulations to the effort from the Team at Titleist. You guys continue to amaze the golf world. Keep it up! I want to thank you for the opportunity and can’t wait to see what Titleist continues to bring the game in the future! Pure excellence! Thank you! Team Titleist

Much appreciation for the opportunity to test the white sleeve ProV1. I am 58 years old and have recollection of many versions of Titleist. I remember when the professional came out I became a disciple of the professional 90. While in professional school at the time you’re not a low handicap golfer but still being able to play a decent wedge game, I could routinely put the ball back in my stance and use the old Hogan method of stopping the ball was spin. I always love to hit the two hopper and make the ball bite. I grew up playing Wilson staff blades so yes I knew the feeling of a Ford blade making a solid hit on a balata ball.

After the professional, I had drifted back-and-forth between the precept and the pro V one. Honestly, I Really like the early versions of the pro V one and it seemed like it was a ball that spinned like a professionalBut was much longer. In later years, and this may not be accurate, but it seem to me like the latter versions of the ball got firmerBut the green side spin was not as good. That may or may not be accurate statistically but it seems so to me. It looks like the more recent version went back to a slightly smaller dimple and honestly I think it feels better invite better than Any of the later versions and more like the early version (392). At one time I had switched back to the Bridgestone 330 RX As it seem to feel softer and had better distance. However, in my opinion, though anecdotal and not based on science or engineer ring, this version is the best mix of distance, soft feel, and greenside spin. Bravo two Titleist engineers for whatever you put in this ball. Please don’t start making it a harder ball again. If people want a harder ball, they can get the pro V1X.

Thanks again for the opportunity to try the ball and to opine.

My only complaint is that I would rather have received a white box rather than a white sleeve :-).

  4. I know I’m a little late the party. Like most of you, I did need to wait a minute to play these due to weather - but I didn’t have to wait long.

I’m happy to report that it took me, what, about 3 months of playing as often as weather allowed to lose my last ball out of this sleeve. The first ball? No, that’s a whole other story - as is customary, the first ball out of the new sleeve went straight from the first tee into the middle of the lake. That sucker sank faster than any other ball I’ve ever played, 0/10 do not recommend for underwater play.

The second ball lasted a few rounds, nothing to scoff at there. This ball combined with the warmer temps we were getting did wonders for regaining my confidence off the tee with driver and it was a bona fide green-finder from 100-150 out. I found plenty of spin from just off the green, too, that stuck like Velcro when I needed it. Eventually, I pulled a drive left into the woods losing ball #2.

That last ball? Man, I couldn’t get rid of that last ball. I hit it into the water when one went dead straight when trying to fade (slice) around a dog leg, but it ended up sitting at the water’s edge just waiting to be put back into play. Another tee shot hit a tree with purpose shooting hard left into wooded OB - I got to pick up my provisional after finding the first had found something else to hit that put it back at the edge of the fairway. This ball hit so many trees and cart paths that so much of the logo and alignment mark were just plain gone, but the casing was still very much intact and scuff-free. I was so proud of myself for hanging on to a single ball through so many rounds (and really, really bad shots that deserved a ball to be lost), only to finally lose it somewhere just off the green on a short par 3 in short grass. Seriously, a squirrel had to have taken off with it, that’s my only explanation.

Thanks so much for the test sleeve, I had a blast with them. I have 4 dozen headed this way thanks to Loyalty Rewarded - if I get the same longevity out of those that I did with these, I should be set for years.

Finally got to test these 2021 Pro V1s . I know this means nothing now that the 2021s have been officially out for a while, but, if Titleist is going to send me test balls, I’m going to follow up. To me, these were better than the previous model. They seemed to spin more around the greens. I’ve never been fit for a ball, but currently play the AVX. I plan on getting fit and am looking forward to see the outcome. Titleist definitely hit it out of the park with the 2021 Pro Vs.

I am a little late in responding to this thread but I have to say that I was very happy to have received a white box of Pro V1's. It took awhile to get to the course in the spring I forgot to take any pictures. I used them over a period of time and kept them in play until I lost all of them. By the time they went into the water or trees, they were very "used" because I tend to bounce balls off trees, cart paths etc. I must say that after all of the abuse I gave them, they still were performing well until the end. After the trial pack I took the next step and ordered the 4 dozen special. This is one great ball.

Cant find the right forum so I will just put my review here. Received my box of ProV1 months ago. Waited for the warm weather to use them. Sorry no pictures. I really loved the feel of the new ball off all the clubs. Got little more distance to. Really like how it felt coming off the putter. Flight and feel just what you expect from a ProV1. I thought the new ball felt just a little bit softer than previous models. Felt like it jumped off the driver. Thanks Titleist!
