  1. Loved my 695MBs. Felt like butter and workability was amazing. Mishits were forgiving. Kept them as my Florida set when I go visit my Mom. Rocking some AP2 714 now and love them.

    Hey, everyone.

It's time for another quick poll and this week we're talking Titleist MB irons.

There's just something about muscle backs. In my opinion, there's no prettier club than a Titleist forged, muscle back, 7 or 8-iron and no sweeter feel when you strike one solid.  My favorite model is still my old set of 690s that I played in the early 2000's. Even the bag chatter sounded pure when I walked the fairways with those irons.

How about all you other blade players out there in the community? Was there one particular Titleist MB model that said "players iron" to you? Vote for your favorite and share your reasons in the Comments section below.

    Thanks!

I have a set of 681-T blades that are the best feeling clubs I have ever hit!!!

I have had these clubs since they first came out. I have not been able to find a club to gives me a significant difference in distance and feel that it’s better than these irons.

I’ve had the 714’s in my bag since they were released, and there is no better feeling than puring these beauties.

690.mb, beautiful design and great feel!
  6. Love my 690.MBs! I took a long layoff from golf and have just gotten back to playing a lot over the past year. I’m still playing my old 690.MBs, and I can’t quite make myself take them out of the bag.

Slightly wider sole of the 670 makes them sweet to hit ....

I liked the square toe model the best, 690's would take second place

Muscle Backs are out of my skill set right now. Based on looks though, I prefer the 690. They just look sleek to me. Love my AP1's though.

I’ve played with my 690 MB’s for so long, nothing else feels any better. Just tried the 718 AP2’s They were ok, but felt very light compared to the 690’s - they are pretty beat up, but not horrific, BUT I feel it’s time to make a change after all these years. I’ve yet to try the 718 MB’s. Any advise here? Anybody try or have the 718’s that have an opinion of any difference between their older blades? Blades obviously have the least details out of all types of clubs, I guess it’s mostly aesthetics and slight weight distribution of the muscle back and contour. Lastly it definitely feels good with a new set of anything and with blades, there’s a longer in between gap of not feeling like there’s another completely different model coming out next year. One aesthetic that throws me off is the MB laser engraved white outline, almost looks like it’s printed on the club. Any feedback or add ons to my rant, lol, would be appreciated.
  11. I've gamed 690MBs since 2003... wife purchased 690CB for birthday, but I traded up (no offense CB, but I was vain!) to the MB.

Loved them, played them, bought another set as backup, refinished them 13 years later, one in chrome, one in satin... anyway favorite sticks of all time.

THEN, sat in on a fitting, tried the 718MB with different shaft and now I have three sets of MBs. The 718s are great for me, little heavier than 690s, got a lighter shaft as well, love them as well, maybe picked up a 1/2 club (loft stronger also).

Could do without the big MB stamp in toe, but nevertheless, I say to you... go try em out.

  13. I love them all. Interesting that Adam Scott still uses 680's.

The 710 looks like you can shave with the leading edge! Those are art, a thing of beauty.
  18. I absolutely loved the 690 with the px6.0 shaft. I played them for about 10 years to the point where the grooves were gone/dull as could be. My only complaint was I couldn’t get a 2 iron for the set and had to settle for the 695z blade which I hated the look of but loved the results. Switched to the AP2’s for 2 seasons and absolutely hated them and setttled with the CB’s.

My all time favorite iron set was the Titleist 981 T. I would give anything to own a set of those. Why doen't Titleist re launch these? the 981T would sell like hot cakes. They could easily sell 10000 sets across the world.

Something about the apparent bulge on the back of the 680 looks good to me, but that's just comparing these pictures. I played some 690.CB irons for a long time in the early 80s or so. I don't think I ever hit blades anymore by then.
  21. How about 1981 Titleist Tour Models. Feel great when you pure it.
