  1. Hey Team, I'm enjoying seeing the snow melt away here in the NE. Everyday I get to see a little more of my yard and the anticipation of that first tee off is giving me that horrible itch. I'm revamping my equipment slowly but am investing in a putter for which I am being fit for this week. I wanted to know what putters you use and what style you prefer. There are so many shapes to chose from that it is overwhelming. I think that I'm partial to a straight up blade putter but recently I've been practicing with a 2-ball putter to see if it helps. It feels in balanced imho. I'm drooling over the beautiful Scotty putters and hope to have some customization on the one that I chose. So, what do you use as why do you use that style? Thank you for your posts. Every time I start a discussion the responses are extremely helpful and I really appreciate the time you take to answer.

I currently have the Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport 2 in the bag. Bought it back in 2001 and used it for a while. Gave the Odyssey 2-Ball a try for a while and then put the SC PP back in and haven't looked back. I just like set up better...I think it was because I wasn't making a lot of putts with the 2-Ball! Guess it all depends on what you like and what feels best. Good luck.

I have a fairly strong arc swing so I have been using a heel shafted mid mallet lately. I am looking to make the investment into a Scotty Cameron as well this year and will be looking at the Newport 3 when available.

Currently gaming a Select Round Back and I also have a Futura Phantom mallet that I pull out and use from time-to-time (when my Round Back misbehaves).

I recently upgraded to the Scotty Cameron Newport 2. First I wanted something that felt good as far as weight and balance. I also preferred the way it looked to me when I was at address. However, the biggest selling point on this model was how well I felt I had control on my lag putts. I felt as though I control my distance and speed better than others. Of course everyone is different. I suggest trying out several models. You will know when you come across the right one. You can't go wrong with a Scotty!!

I use a California Monterey Scotty Cameron and had it color customized and stamped from Scotty. I call her Jolene and would run through a house fire to get her. Definitely find a nice blade that looks good and comfortable to your eye and get it customized the way you like....You'll love it for life. Mental confidence is way better than a 2 ball image

I'm a mallet man. Favorite is a Red X. I sent it back to have the shaft changed, initials added, and grip. Back up (when my habits get bad), a California Del Mar. Sent it back too for the same, some shaft and personalizing and grip. Can't beat a Scotty

I use a 2011 Studio Select Newport 2, which I sent to Scotty's Custom Shop. I have used this putter for the last two years and I love it! I think it looks great when looking down on it, and I love the feel it has when the ball comes off the face.

I use a 2014 SC Golo5s that I really like. It replaced my Yes Natalie putter.

Scotty Studio Select Newport 2. I like a traditional putter. Keep it simple. Changed from stock Pistolini grip to a Scotty Matador Mid-size. Made a positive difference in my putting. So much so, that I may try changing to a Matador Large.

I am using a Scotty 009. Moved from a NP2 and am liking the rounded look of the bumpers. Also it's my first time putting without a flangeline, and I like it much more than expected!

I'm using a 2014 California Monterey putter that I've had for a few years now and I LOVE IT!! Since putting is so much based on feel, you really have to spend the time and observe what feels the best and most natural based on how you bring the putter back. I tend to do more of a pendulum swing (straight back and straight through) rather then arc. I also spend a lot of time practicing on carpet for 30 mins to an hour working on my putting from various distances and switching occasionally to chipping and bump and running from 3-5 yds out to save my back and keeping it interesting. SHORT GAME IS WHERE'S IT'S AT!!

I game a 2007 Studio Newport 2 lengthened to 36". I love the classic look of it and simple design. I understand the science behind some of the larger, mallet putters but for me, it's all about looking at something I feel confident in. Putting is 90% mental and feeling comfortable over the ball is a huge step.

I have the Red X center shaft. Love the balance and the way it lines up next to the call.

First of all get fitted! Worked for me. Use a putter that looks and feels good to you. You want to be confident and not think of anything else. I personally use a mallet style putter, that is just me. I want to feel my stroke will not hit the ground early. So there is that confidence thing again. Do not get a putter just because it costs more therefore it should be better for you.
