Very interesting thread and it's nice to read all the different numbers that have been achieved. Just last week my wife and I took a quick vacation, and I added 4 new courses in 4 new states in 6 days (Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, and Kansas) so I'm up to 20 states and 172 courses. It should be noted that with my golf game, I see a lot of each course I play! I get my monies worth!

Lance - what courses in MO & KS were you able to play? I live in the KC metro area and have played most of the courses here.

Thanks for the question Sean! We played Swope Memorial with a late Saturday tee time and were only able to finish 13 holes before dark. Very crowded and a slow pace. Sunday afternoon we went up to Dub's Dread and, while a bit expensive, we enjoyed the course and pace. We have a friend in Overland Park and he was our sherpa for the trip. As an aside, the pizza at The Other Place was fantastic!

Swope is a fun track. Going to be closed for a while for a major renovation. Views from the top of the hill are fantastic. Dubs is a lot of fun. They can really stretch that course out. I’ll have to check out The Other Place. Glad to hear you enjoyed KC.

    only 3 states , 21 tracks.
  7. I’ve only played in nine different states. This thread makes me wish I would have written all the courses down throughout the years.

OMG. It would have to be from memory, but it's in the neighborhood of 100-120.
  10. I have played around 100 course in
    Minnesota
    Wisconsin
    Iowa
    Nebraska
    Missouri
    Colorado
    North Carolina
    South Carolina
    Maryland

IMO - Minnesota and Wisconsin have crazy good public courses and Nebraska is the most underrated in the country

I’m at 125 different courses. I have 120 course logo balls that’s how I keep track. Five courses didn’t have logo balls trying to get some made up pretty hard to do. These are all in Ontario except for one course in Las Vegas Nevada wish I could travel abroad and other provinces who knows what the future holds.
  12. I’ve only been playing golf since college, but I’ve really only started traveling for golf the last 5-6 years. My list of bucket list courses is extremely long and continuously growing. So far my totals are below…

    Foreign countries - 0
    US states - 14
    Alabama courses played - 74
Total number of courses - 128

Memories of the courses and locations is a daunting task....

Foreign - Abu Dhabi, Germany, Thailand, Mexico, Canada, England, Scotland

    US States - 30

    Total number of courses - 350 400

Still long way to go to get every US state...

Sean, that is an interesting question to pose, and honestly I am not sure I ever kept track. I think I could list each of the states in the US, and might be able to think of most, but would likely have to look at a course listing in each state to be accurate. I have played outside of the US on a limited basis, but I know for fact that the most interesting location outside of the US that I have had the opportunity to play was Iceland.

Back in 2017 I was fortunate enough to be asked to participate in Footjoy's Make Everyday Playable campaign. We played so many great courses with varying setups, I could not name them all without cheating and using the internet to get the actual names. It was certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity I was provided and can't thank the folks involved for making it an everlasting memory.

I will have to make the effort and take some time and to try and actually look back at all of the places I have played and update this post. I did see that Dale keeps track on a listing, and applaud your efforts.

    Great post!

I know someone currently on a golf journey that started in Nov. 2021 and has included 50 states, 9 provinces, 700 plus rounds so far. Plus he walks all the courses that will let him!
