    Played a couple times in the snow when I was a teenager, but there's a lot of things I don't do now that I did when I was a teenager, lol. I agree with the others if the sun is out and wind is down then I'm usually game. If wind and rain is involved it needs to be 40+ (and the company better be worth it). On the plus side pace of play is usually pretty quick!

    50 degrees or above and wind under 10 mph is my cutoff. When the greens are closed off it is time to watch the golf channel. I will turn 75 in June and I just can't take the cold as much as I love to play.

    we have an enclosure on our cart and two good heaters we pretty much play year round unless there is snow cover on the ground before we start. Had to stop one day after 11 holes snow came in on us and once it started accumulating we had to call it quits

    I will play in temps above 40 degrees here in Rhode Island. Anything below that and you're hitting into frozen greens that react like cart paths when your ball lands. If you live in New England and you don't have something set up for indoor practice, then your wait for spring will seem endless.

    We have been known to take a cordless drill with us so that we can get a tee in the ground.

    Had to do that just last week, though used a hammer and nail.

    I chose less than 50. Here in The Triangle it won't stay too cold for too long so I'll be able to get out sooner than later. I've played a few cool days since moving down and as long as you are walking under 50 isn't that bad but I'd rather just wait a few days until it warms up a bit...my blood may have thinned since becoming a "southerner"!

    I don't mind the cold weather. Living in Washington, you have to be used to playing in cold and wet conditions. The challenge I came across was on a course that let us play while frosty and the ball would skid off the putter face, collect ice and not allow you to have any control on putt! Still fun though :)

    I will play as low single digits. To me it is all about being outside in the fresh air. I play my home course, Bay Pointe Onset Ma. It is open year round.

    Thankfully we have covered carts and I have a small propane heater. Our course will generally open for play as long as there is no snow on the greens
    That being said there are days that we have teed it up anywhere between 33-40. That is pretty cold even w a heater, but swinging the clubs is always fun. There will be some spots that still may be frozen and when you hit one...say bye bye ball. Up and offit goes for some extra distance

    After today’s warm up, hoping to sneak in a round tomorrow. Need the remaining snow on the greens to melt down, but keeping my fingers crossed

    Limited golfing days in Lincoln, NE, 40% with no wind was the benchmark when I lived there back in the 80's. 50 to 55 was and is perfect to Golf.

    I live in Texas, and there is ample time to play golf, all year. Being retired, and I have an annual pass at the local course, my groups rule of thumb is: the outside temperature is at least 50 degrees at tee time. Although this can be waived, if we have a prolonged period of 40 degree or lower temperatures. Cabin fever can only be tolerated so long!

    I played a college tournament in Witchita, KS in 2003 or 2004, and when we teed off it was 4*F with the windchill. I’d tee it up in that weather again tomorrow if I had to. Lots of layers and let’s go!

    I live in Texas, and can usually play all year. My groups rule of thumb is: temperature will be 50 degrees or higher at tee time. There is an occasional exception, when there has been a prolonged period of 40 degree weather. Cabin fever only can be tolerated for so long!

    I can go down to 45. Anything below 45 and I have too many layers on to play.

    Last month we played a course in the Seattle area where the temperature was about 34 degrees; it was 29 when I arrived at the pro shop. There was brilliant sunshine and no wind and even though we were playing on temporary greens (see Clickgear cart tire picture) for most of the course, we had a great time ! We pulled off the jackets and gloves right before the turn.

    This is a little tricky as here in Indiana tends to be more humid which intensifies both hot and cold. The sun and wind are often the true qualifiers if we play or not when temps drops. Sunny and 40 without wind here is actually a nice round but 55, cloudy and 10mph wind is very uncomfortable and may not even go out.

    I’ll play in the 30’s as long as there is no snow on the ground. But once the temperature hits the lower 40’s, it seems to be just about being out on the course enjoying hitting golf balls than actually playing golf.

    This question has variables based on geography that is not accounted for in this poll. I used to live in the midwest and now live in Oceanside CA. In the midwest I would play with snow on the ground just to get out if it was above freezing. Now in SoCal where you can play year round I don't like playing when it is below 50 if sun is out and 60 if cloudy. So used to warm temps that 50 feels like 30 used to in the Midwest. Wind plays more of a factor when temps dip as well. Just my 2 cents on the topic.
